Project Safe works to end violence against women through prevention, educational programs, crisis intervention, and support services for survivors of domestic abuse. In March 2011, Project Safe's annual fundraiser "Dancing with the Athens Stars," Dancefx Director, Allison Hayn, partnered with local celebrity Ashley Epting to win both the Judges and Audience (most money raised) 1st place awards — the first time any couple has achieved both titles! This event raised more than $90,000 for Project Safe. Dancefx instructor Grace Bagwell also participated in 2011, and Dancefx Ballroom Director Natalie Cox was a guest performer. For the past two years, Natalie has earned the audience first place award.

CASA volunteers are everyday citizens appoint to advocate for the safety and well-being of children who have been removed from their homes due to parental abuse and neglect. CASA volunteers have helped more than two million children find safe, permanent homes. In 2009 and 2010, Dancefx donated the proceeds from their Holiday Youth Show "Dancing in a Winter Wonderland," totaling more than $1,500, to the Athens CASA Program. In 2011, we exceeded donations from previous years.
